A Comparative Analysis of Assistive Technologies for Blind Navigation and Daily Interaction
2025-12-12

This article presents a structured overview of modern AI-based assistive technologies designed to support blind and visually impaired individuals. The study focuses on four critical components: navigation systems, object detection models, face recognition tools, and utility-service functions such as shopping assistance, product detail extraction, and currency recognition. Recent advancements in computer vision and machine learning have enabled real-time environmental understanding, improved social interaction, and greater independence for end users. By comparing the strengths, limitations, and practical applications of these technologies, the article highlights their collective impact on accessibility and discusses the remaining challenges for robust real-world deployment.
