Ziyarat Warith as a Prophetic Inheritance–Legitimacy Cycle: From Karbala to the History of Guidance, Imamate, and Human Dignity
This article examines Ziyarat Warith as a 360-degree Prophetic Inheritance–Legitimacy Cycle through which Karbala is relocated from a local, political, or merely tragic event into the sacred history of prophecy, imamate, guidance, legitimacy, and human dignity. The study addresses a reduction problem: Karbala is often interpreted primarily as martyrdom, political resistance, sectarian memory, ritual grief, or general moral symbolism, while Ziyarat Warith presents Imam al-Husayn as the inheritor of the prophetic and Imami line and therefore as the bearer of sacred legitimacy. Using qualitative, source-sensitive conceptual analysis, phrase–function textual coding, and evidence-matrix claim control, the article treats Ziyarat Warith as a bounded devotional corpus. Its central textual focus is the inheritance formula linking Imam al-Husayn to Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Imam ʿAli, Lady Fatimah, and Imam Hasan. The findings show that inheritance in Ziyarat Warith is not merely genealogical or symbolic; it is epistemic, ethical, spiritual, Imami, and legitimacy-forming. The article contributes a non-reductionist model explaining how Ziyarat Warith universalizes Karbala from within Shiʿi imamate, without measuring sanctity, wilayah, divine acceptance, spiritual reward, or claiming empirical interfaith effects.
